Frequently asked questions about learning English with me
Normally I reply back within 48 hours, unless I’m working away from home. If you don’t see a reply back from me, please check your spam mailbox, as my email to you may have arrived there.
It depends on how you contact me. If you contact me via Whatsapp, I’ll reply on Whatsapp.
If you contact me via email, I reply via email. If you prefer to get a text message or Whatsapp message, tell me your telephone number in your message to me.
It really depends on what you want to achieve. If you’re applying for jobs, I’ll ask you for your CV and to share your Linkedin profile (if you have one) with me, as well as the adverts or role profiles of any jobs you’re currently applying for. For everything else, just bring yourself!
I only offer online classes, as it’s not financially viable for me to offer in-person classes.
I’ll send you an invoice for the plan you choose, and you can either pay me via Wise, or Revolut.
I no longer accept bank transfers, credit cards or Paypal as the fees are too high for both you and me.
You can reschedule or cancel lessons, as long as you do this at least 12 hours before the class.
I need this notice period so I can offer the time slot to another student if they want it.
Yes, the trial lesson is free, with no obligation to continue, if you don’t feel I’m the right teacher for you.
You need to use up any lessons in your plan within 6 months of paying for them. If you don’t use them within this time period the lessons will expire.
I offer group lessons—please contact me for a price for your lessons, as this will depend on how many students there are in the class.
I would need to speak to all the students at the trial lesson, to check your level and needs are similar. If I don’t think group lessons are suitable for you, I’ll be honest.
I normally use Google Meet for our classes, but if you prefer, we can use Microsoft Teams, Skype, or even Whatsapp!
Normally for exam preparation I recommend 1 lesson a week, and that you do homework by yourself during the week, and that you take between 6 months to 1 year to prepare, depending on your level. If you need to take the exam within less time, then I recommend you have 2 lessons a week.
For general English conversation classes, I generally recommend you choose either 1 or 2 lessons a week, depending on how quickly you want to make progress.
We can discuss which plan would suit you at the trial lesson.
If you would like me to invoice you in Euros, because you need to avoid paying bank fees, just let me know. I currently accept payments in US dollars or Euros, as well as in GBP Sterling, via Wise or Revolut.
